Available during the winter months. This fruit is wrapped in an edible russet-brown thin skin with rather short stiff hairs. Although the skin is edible it's usually peeled off. The emerald green firm pulp is dotted with a large amount of dark nearly black tiny edible seeds. The flavor is sweet tart with a slightly acidic edge. Refrigerate ripe fruit up to ten days. Unripe can last up to one month in refrigerator.
